Im doing an informal poll here to see what % of the participants here are currently monetizing the web forms on thier websites, blogs, or social media apps and who is suggesting this to clients as well.

Specifically, I am referring to coregistration either as a monetization effort as a publisher to create new revenue or to partner with other web publishers (advertiser) to grow your or your clients opt in email lists from like minded publishing partner's traffic.

Any insight and current practices or participation to share here would be appreciated.

Dead in the water.

Just my opinion.

Followup: Just to make sure I understand the co-registration question.

What you're asking is how many people here charge other companies to be listed as a "would you like to be added to the mailing lists for these other fine companies" option in your mailing list sign up.

My answer is - I never ask my visitors to use a feature that I actively avoid myself. Specifically, when I sign up for a mailing list, if these kinds of options exist I always make sure that the answer is "No." Further, seeing those kinds of choices usually makes me give a second thought to whether or not I want to be on that list to begin with.

Bottom line, since I never opt in myself, I don't offer that function to my visitors -- let alone try to monetize it.
