How can I, as a marketer, get my old school website webmaster, to include links to Twitter/Facebook/Our blog/etc on our company webpage. Being a B2B he doesn't see the need to include them since "no one is allowed on those sites at work anyways"

He doesn't see the point in adding social network link to the site, even though I've tried to explain the whole process to him. I just need to find a way to make it appeal to him. any ideas?

I must be missing something. From reading your question it looks like 1) you own the company, and 2) your webmaster is an employee of your company. If that's the case, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to get what you ask for. You are paying him to perform tasks for you, and this is one of them. He has the option to do it and get paid, or not do it and not get paid (and most likely lose his job).

So I'm a bit confused by your question. The only thing I can think of is that the webmaster is also a part owner in the company. Is this the case?

In the initial post I stated that I was the Marketing person, but not the webmaster. The whole SEO/"new marketing techniques" are new around here from the old school way of not much marketing other than mass mailers every so often. Its just kind of a night and day fight trying to help with the site, since thats what my background is in. – Rachel Jul 1 at 15:38

Determining the direction of a company's website should should be a function of marketing, not IT. Perhaps IT supports the execution of the marketing strategy on the web, as long as it's clear that Marketing is effectively IT's customer. If, as the customer, you aren't getting the service you deserve, it's time to shop elsewhere.
