I have to put this in: if you're worrying about number of followers, you're not using the right perspective. Don't ask how many followers, ask how many people you engage in conversation with. It's always quality over quantity. In my current role, I've been trying to engage more people to use my company's domain/social media username search engine, and so I search for people who are using similar tools and I DM them. Sometimes they follow me, sometimes not. What I care about is my messaging, and whether they used the site, or have feedback about the site. And I reply to everyone who mentions my company. It's that kind of interaction that I value more than anything. Far more than just raw numbers. |
