I mainly use reverse image search on content theft driven sites like Tumblr and Pinterest. I search for the original source and publish it anew instead of reposting the stolen one. Then people treat me, rightfully, as the better source on the social media site. It works mainly on Pinterest. On Tumblr people don't care and steal on and "credit" the original content thief instead.
I recently purchased a cover image for my book, Tethered Twins. Fotolia wanted around £50 for a licence that allowed you to use the image I wanted on book covers. So I reverse image searched the image and found another site that sold a licence to use the same image on book covers for £5. A nice little saving for 2 minutes work.
