Very good article on how Google is taking from the consumers (users) and giving the power to the businesses.
Had some URL issues and had to upload the updated URL, for those of you that have already seen this.
Thanks for sharing your point of view. Google has gained its popularity from typical users trusting that it is providing the best search results for a given query and that it is doing it an unbiased way. They have tried to project their mantra of 'don't be evil'. However, when Google guards most of its data, uses it to their advantage and shows a bias toward its own properties (especially if Google does not provide better value than competing companies), they lose some of their trust and credibility. That's what rubs people the wrong way--the disconnect between what they project and their actual practices. If you are the company that is being disinter-mediated by Google, you certainly have a right to be upset. It goes to show that companies need to diversify their marketing, in the event that Google dis-intermediates you and takes away a ton of your traffic.
Thanks for your comments Bret! I actually answered them on your orginal comment underneath my article.
Yes, sorry I intended to post my comments here and lost track of the article with the change you made. Again, I appreciate you sharing your opinion and also enjoyed hearing Danny speak at SLCSEM. Good to see a fellow Utah Internet marketer making waves on Inbound!
