Go Glen go until Google fixes that! That's the only way to deal with crappy Google algos. Create public pressure so that they have to act. Make Google look stupid.
some part of me is kind of hoping they don't act ;)
me too :)
So what then do you try to achieve with that post?
People who have been burned to try making new sites
I doubt Googlers are reading, though it would be nice to be wrong
Easy - check Analytics. Mountain View is easy to find :-)
Ah I would have to say great followup post, worth a read for sure even if you don't agree with everything Glen has to say on SEO!
Wow... that was an awesome post. I have to say, I completely agree with some of the points Glenn is making about finding loopholes in the algorithm. If you're running the SEO for a multinational brand that is looking for long-term sustainable search traffic then there is no way you want to be risking running black-hat/grey-hat SEO. On the other hand, if you're running an affiliate site with the goal of generating some passive income, you're an idiot if you haven't thought about it...
Thing is I have a friend who is involved in the hosting niche, he purchased a decent size website a few years ago and has built an authority site from that niche which still does well today. He use to have the idea to go in and spam with burn sites. But the thing is time is limited you never know when you are going to get banned. Google really does follow these niches with manual penalties, but Affiliates don't care they just lunch a new site every month, and start fresh if the profits are been made. But the argument is their build long term affiliate site or build short term, even if you think of the bigger picture like selling the affiliate site for 24 months rev. But that been said after reading the post some really good points, I agree their is too much "fresh junk" in the index.
Agree or not, most of what Glen talks about has an immediate impact for me. I'll vote up almost every article from ViperChill.
Quit outing, bro!Seriously, though, great follow-up to a great post.
