I've been reading a lot about GitHub and GitHub's management style this weekend. I love their vendiagram showing how "problems GitHub has" and "problems best solved by managers" doesn't intersect! What they're teaching though is kind of hard to communicate. The leaked Valve employee handbook helps more people "get it" but I'd love to see this stuff become standard materials in MBA programs for all the suits :)
Great article. Also reminds me of Rand's recent post entitled "The Uncomfortable Balance" - http://moz.com/rand/the-uncomfortable-balance/ - also worth a read.
This is just fantastic. "Make everyone a manager" is similar to Brad Feld's "Be the CEO of your job". And for those of us who dream about changing our organizations, leading by example is one of the best ways possible to get there.
