I'd also love to push profiles a bit more and private messaging, maybe even IM/Friend system/private groups? Of course not all at once ;).
I like this idea. What do you think about having some kind of "twitter chat" plugin?
Have you seen Bonfire? http://bonfire.im/ We could do something similar?
Private groups would get really interesting. A little down the line I think, but I'm excited for the possibilities here. I've been mulling this over (looking at Reddit as a model for Inbound); private/public groups by industry/specialism/location could get really awesome.
Yep, lots of opportunities, meanwhile while there's no IM on Inbound feel free to add me on Skype and we can have a quick chat :) Fhenrir76.
Nothing personal, but I much prefer asynchronous methods of communication like Gmail and Twitter to Skype for the reasons Dharmesh touches on in this thread: http://www.inbound.org/articles/view/sorry-no-calls
Drop me an email to ed at Inbound dot org?
This shows Google Analytics from the Saturday we transferred the new site onto Inbound.org. You can see the spike two days after as Monday (also SearchLove London) hit.
It's awesome to see growth in visits and uniqute visitors, and to see more engagement in terms of page views.
The decreased time on site I can live with. So long as the engagement on each visit remains high (something we're working on as the moderating team at the moment), this isn't so much of an issue. It's still around
The increase in bounce rate looks ugly. I'd like to reduce this...
What do you think?
I think it's great now I think pushing gamification and incentives for commenting/social sharing inbound's pages is a good way to go. Most of your users are twitter power users and could bring a lot more users IF they tweeted you more.
Looking good! Has anyone else connected their analytics to inbound.org? What's the value of doing that other than getting a bit of karma and a sticker?
Great! Head over to login and use your credentials there
