Anyone who is interested in learning more about Google+ should take a look at this article.
Thanks Jacob! My answers are a highly condensed version of a lot of longer-form content I've been writing about this, especially on the Windmill Networking Blog, but I hope I got the main points across.
Also really enjoyed the fun and personal questions Brandon threw at me!
I had a lot of fun with this one. Sadly I couldn't use everything Mark shared with me due to editorial purposes. Nonetheless, some great insight from Mark!
I'm starting to get the sense that G+ is kinda important...
Saunder, I tried to answer the "how important" question in the interview. As far as "posting every day"? Yes, it's important to have content there, but just posting on any social network won't get you very far. The magic really happens when you actually become social. Use the powerful search in Google+ to find people and communities who are discussing topics relevant to your brand. Join in those conversations in useful ways. Help people by answering their questions related to your field. On Google+ if you're doing all those things consistently, you'll start to build a following. And it's the social signals from those followers +1'ing and commenting on and resharing your stuff that will start to get your Google+ post ranking in search.
BTW, if you're doing all that as a Brand Page (rather than from a personal profile), you just need to be an extra good citizen. Google+ now allows Brand Pages to follow other people (without being followed first by them) and start and participate in Communities. But people will be more wary of a brand, so go out of your way to be super helpful and contribute meaningfully.
