Thanks for spending time answering our questions. Here's my question, "How can you use content and social media and generate traffic and generate more leads over time?"
One amazing way to do that is using email marketing. This article on hubspot covers most of the topics related to re-engaging customers with email - http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/32123/How-to-Use-Email-to-Re-Engage-Sleepy-Subscribers.aspx
The next step is trying not to have any sleeping audience. You can do this my pre-defining a life-cycle marketing campaigns, sending periodic newsletters with catchy subject lines (Ex - "This article just made the community go bonkers!" - bad example, i know! ). The aim of this campaign should be to get users to open your emails. Audience will only visit a website or a page only if the content is interesting/ relevant to them. Sending articles that are based on his interests etc helps. This is one way of re-engaging audience with simple email marketing tools. Hope this helps :)
I'm Moheth, a marketing wizard in a small start up trying to take over the world! I love to read great articles and hope to learn from that. I also write blogs, tweet a bit, read Quora posts for hours and sleep. I found inbound.org recently (too late! :( ) but i plan to stay here for a long long time :D. I'd like to read new content strategies, interact with the community and share sales & marketing tips.
Apart from all this, I am addicted to Game of Throne! Hodor :P
I found that very few ecommerce websites run a decent blog. They put a lot of effort into marketing their content that they forget about blogging. I don't know if it is good or bad but i would love to read a good blog from ecommerce stores, something they should learn from looking at different SaaS businesses.
Hi Joel, this is a really great idea! Thanks for taking the initiative. Can you take a lot at our landing page? http://www.martmobi.com/ I want to understand how the landing page looks for any visitor who is visiting the website for the first time. Is the page good enough to educate any visitor who is coming to sign up for a mobile app? I would love to hear your thoughts and we will try to improve in places that seem lacking.
Good question Adrian. There is no perfect answer for this. You have to only hope that a visitor who found you few months ago and didn't find it useful for any reason might fight it useful now. So i would still recommend sending him digests/ news/ offers etc twice a month. He may suddenly need some help from your service and remembers that he gets frequently gets emails from you, then he will come back. You can always send emails with an unsubscribe link added to it, let him decide if he wants to get emails from you or not.
Daily digests is a good way to start but all email marketing campaigns may or may not work. For the first few days or even weeks you have to try different campaigns and see how each campaign is doing (not everything works). Check Click Rate and Open Rate, ditch the campaign that isn't working and keep experimenting. You have to build marketing campaigns from the user point of you - Build a campaign and send it to a friend, he may tell you if the email is useful to him/her or not (ask for an honest review.)
