Hi all, nice to meet you. I'm Mike and I live in the Boston area. I'm looking for a full-time inbound marketing job, and I'm also interested in adding new skills.
I'm currently a marketing intern for Spots, the real-time nightlife app which has launched in Boston. I manage social media, create weekly email newsletters, write the blog, and moderate focus groups. I've been able to grow their Twitter following from virtually nothing to over 500 in the 10 months that I've been working with them. You can check out Spots on Twitter and Facebook.
I've also recently completed the Intro to Technical Marketing RampUp program at Boston's Startup Institute.
Before joining the Spots team I was a rights & permissions manager at Pearson, the educational publisher. While at Pearson I attended Northeastern University at night where I earned my MBA. My favorite classes were marketing, so I started to think about that as a career choice. When I was laid off after 7 years at Pearson I took a step back and determined that content marketing was the career path for me, because it combines my love of writing and editing with my MBA and management experience.
Feel free to connect via Twitter and learn more at LinkedIn. I also have a Workfolio site that I'm eworking on, and I blog about homebrewing, horror, and digital publishing.
