The world is full of a bunch of people who may not like you, regardless of how cute your bio is, and a lot of people who will like you even if your bio is crap, and a lot of people who wont care one way or the other.
Thanks for this! I was intimidated by Twitter and other social media, afraid of negative feedback from strangers. It takes a certain amount of "putting it out there" that can be difficult at first.
I think the ability to "lurk" on LinkedIn versus Twitter is a big factor. If I check out a profile on Twitter, that person's activity (or lack of) is very clear. Whereas on LinkedIn, the passive listing never goes away, and activity is harder to track.
Interesting read. I wonder how much perception is also skewed when shipping costs (Amazon Prime) are factored into total price. While the $0 shipping option looks great at checkout, I'd be curious to figure out the actual cost when broken down by number of purchases per annual Prime membership, compared to regular shipping on sites like Walmart.
