@SNEG55 There is some useful stuff in there, i particularly like the way the site map levels and shows each level, however some basic spelling is not even right which is off putting a bit - http://awesomescreenshot.com/0a34gtjr52
@angela_9 Thank you Angela, I have had nightmares with this page, I have to put a whole huge disclaimer into the body section of the page, the mortgage network requirements all pages have to be passed through them before were allowed to publish them and any split testing will be close to impossible without putting it through them first...im contemplating a different lead gen tactic for this company at the moment but I also have redesigned the current linked one above since that, thanks for your input
Some great resources, but until i was thrown in at the deepend all the learning / reading in the world taught me nothing without somewhere to carry it out, reading blogs, watching webinars just burns my head out, I need experiential learning and it all depends on your learning style. If you learn hands on then your better off doing what Patrick suggested, thats what worked for me, 3 months after starting i was managing a huge budget across gdn, gmail and search with 1000s of kw's, ads, Id improved CPA by 50% and increased conversion rate by 100%! it wasnt well looked after account but, it just shows how much you can learn in a short period of time, if your even slightly marketing minded then you can adapt your experience to pick it up quickly and keep learning as you go along.
I would recommend convert.com on lots of levels, I just had horrible experiences with optimizely. Their support is next to none existent unless your spending a huge amount, which for me i didn't need. For 130$ a month i use convert i found the interface as good if not better, i find the support great, very helpful and always available, i tried vwo and a couple of others i cannot remember but they always broke the forms i was trying multivariate testing on, and offered some cheap JS solutions I didnt bother with them. I also use Crazy egg like many others which is invaluable :)
Before i developed our inhouse system I used unbounce for landing pages, I have also used optimizepress and there is another couple that look really good for wordpress that I have tried, also leadpages all worth a try and make life easier in different ways.
@konradcaban Hi Konrad, its only my perception, of course people might not agree, I would say the black and white feel of the form and text fonts, very square boxes, personally i would experiment with fonts, font sizes, colours, maybe some icons in the form field backgrounds, perhaps the basic feel of the page and logo also contributes to this, like other people have asked, what are you trying to achieve with your logo/brand what is it saying about you? your company? what problem are you solving, perhaps consider something around the realms of safety, security, im just not sure the superheroes thing works, its a bit gimmicky for me.
When I land on the page, blurred out hero image hurts my eyes a little, feel the text overlay doesnt work so well with this behind it.
The text on your form and colours dont work so well for me, it has an old feel to it and doesnt stand out so well, i might think this form was designed in 2000 if i just landed here and had to make a quick decision
We serve customers could be changed to something like 'Here are some of our clients' giving weight/trust based on the size of the brands using the service
The text section is too wordy and titles dont stand out enough, so much so i think less is more, can you pick 4 or 6 at the most of the most important ones, restyle the grid, use better headings maybe a colour and an icon perhaps and I would personally choose a different font, easier on the eye
Also highlight one of your boxes in the pricing so it stands out, to give people like "most popular" and maybe change the colour of it...this seems to work well for a lot of people selling a service..
Im not as experienced as some of the other but those are just some of the things i would try, you can always split test ideas once you get it to a standard and then keep implementing new things of course :) hope that helps
Im a digital marketing manager working client side for in a financial vertical, worked in an e-commerce business before this for many years in the supplement industry. I actually worked in digital marketing since 1999 yes i remember the days of altavista, hotbot and the dominant yahoo directory at $300 a year for paid inclusion :)
I started off in design, quickly realised that I was as blank as the blank screen i was looking at and moved into development which i love, was always intrigued in SEO and worked in the dark art of 'cloaking' otherwise known as IP delivery in about 1999! where I earned a shit load of money in hotel and travel industry living and working in SE Asia.
Moving on from that have progressed with organic search and cms development, i work in many areas, development, design but primarily organic search and PPC, CRO these days managing a small department of digital people in Manchester UK.
Love technical challenges, love being at the forefront of whats going on digitally, first and foremost im a dedicated dad to an amazing little 5 year old princess, which has opened my eyes completely to the world and understanding people and how they think :) hence im also a psychotherapist and a qualified counsellor -- but thats another story :)
Thanks Matt, ive totally changed the design now, everything has to fall in line with compliance so wording I tend to focus on more later.
I decided the CTA wasnt strong enough and required too much thinking, so i have changed it for a free guide download, with a simple form including 3 fields. Then below where the tables were is a calculator that has 4 fields to work out potential borrowing with a form incorporated in the results which works better i think, or i feel more confident to start off with .
Hi, ive connected my distilledU account and it says these badges are available to you: nothing on there, as there are no corresponding names of modules on there, i dont understand the above, which courses do you need to take in order to get the badges to display? ive got high marks and quite a few of the tests on there...?
yes of course for what small amount of that there is, everything has been built with paid search so there is little organic site structure and or incoming traffic as it is, and there are some great links that could be leveraged from authoritative sites due to the exposure in national press!
One of my biggest binds is getting buy in from directors in regards to Organic search, ok so we spend X via external agency, or inhouse team resource, relationship building, content creating, inforgraphic, video etc so on, we would like to generate x amount of content, pieces so on for our spend, assets., We generate x amount of links, we raise positions for certain keywords, phrases and this in turn then increases traffic by x which based on our current conversion of X percent of people searching for whichever keywords, we can hope for bringing x amount of people into a sales funnel.
so as you can see the value of X is the biggest metric, made even worse by 'not available' in analytics. When its all paid lead gen through display and search networks, its so easy to populate all that information, directors just wont buy into organic search at any price because its not measurable, and i don't feel there is anything i could come up with that would be convincing when the business model is based on mostly paid search.

Hi Konrad,
Here are my thoughts,
