It's supposed to be a universal refresh instead of incremental refresh. According to Mueller, previous Penguin iterations were done in batches instead of across the board. This means if you got hit, you stayed down since you're waiting for a general refresh. 3.0 is supposed to fix this. This is my understanding. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I see your point Tad. The but the challenge posed by the Twitter model is the FIRE HYDRANT of data. It's too easy to get overloaded. I follow lots of influence leaders on Twitter and there's just so much info. Maybe there should be some sort of HYBRID solution?
This has got to be one of the most intensive and thorough blogging guides I've come across. Thanks to Mumar for posting this and big thanks to Matthew Barby for sharing his blog set up experience. Awesome tutorial.
I get your point regarding the law analogy but that focuses on STATIC content. Maybe the better approach would be to teach SEO using the SOCRATIC METHOD using the latest SEO technology. Plus, borrow the case study method of MBA programs.
You get the best of both worlds: current, fast changing SEO technology content PLUS classic brain-busting and creativity-stretching/analytical skill-challenging PEDAGOGY.
I think it should be because it protects the public by offering one layer of consumer protection - standardized education for providers. Also, it would segment the global SEO services market into US-trained providers and non-US-trained providers.
My big issue with this is HOW it is to be taught. I think SEO shouldn't be taught like typical static college courses. It should be taught like LAW SCHOOL courses using the Socratic Method and CASE STUDIES. This way, the information is always fresh and students' CREATIVITY and critical thinking skills are CHALLENGED.
My previous post got deleted for some reason. I hope this post doesn't get nuked. I'm just sharing my thoughts in the discussion.

By the way, Ello's do follow links, I think is intentional. Imagine the huge rush of 'new accounts.' This would just bolster the 'momentum' narrative. Keep the buzz going until the VCs behind this bad boy can unload it :)
Great piece of linkbait. Identify a hot trend, do some analysis that ties it into your niche specialization and share on specialized media channels. Kudos.
Ello's PR department definitely needs to get congratulated. It's amazing the buzz this site has gotten. Regardless, I'm not sure if the whole 'anti-facebook' angle has long-lasting legs.
I am getting into selling my own digital products as well as the digital products I write for my clients.
Advantages versus traditional CPA?
- you control the quality of the product
- you don't have to settle for cents on the dollar in terms of commission splits
- you can link your products together to form a series and promote via your mailing list
- it is much easier to build a passive income stream with your own products than as an affiliate
- One word: KINDLE
Solid resource. Thanks!
I'd like something that checks links, PR, and also spits out social media contact, direct contact url, last update, and of course email contact info.
This is good news, actually. Pushes serious players to pay up. Also, more money for SMMs.
Add PR and DA would be a good idea. Also, if it can list a contact link or social media accounts for outreach purposes, that would help a lot.

I'll include you in my family's prayers, AJ. I am very familiar with your situation. My uncle died at the age of 49 due to Lymphoma.
I wish you only peace and God's blessings
Congratulations! Great to see hard work, dedication, vision, and focus pay off. You guys are an inspiration!

any tips on how to apply this to other niches? I'm interested in the academic assistance niche. Where do I start?

I upvote the following
1) Info that I haven't read before or see rarely
2) Catchy headlines that identify a PROBLEM and describe an OUTCOME
3) Headlines with an 'information gap' similar to viralnova
4) I upvote also based on the CREDIBILITY of others who upvoted previously.
