I work for Whatclinic, a search engine for private healthcare. I work 2 days a week in the office and the rest from home. (The other side of the country) I'm a working mum. The company is really flexible and very supportive but the agile environment doesn't really make life simple for remote workers. I struggle to be 'remembered' when I'm not in the office and can be overlooked. I send more emails and make more calls than are absolutely needed to counter this. Google Hangouts are wonderful, but sometimes i honestly wish I could have a remote controlled robot to give me a physical presence ( there actually is a kickstarter for this!)
I have a shared calendar and I make sure my team can see what I'm working on. Visibility is key.
I'd like to hear how people have tackled managing teams remotely. Harvest is great - but it's all about tracking, rather than communicating. What works for others?
Hi Tom! Anything? Right. So while at a digital agency a few years back I used to create custom brand filters in analytics to measure organic branded traffic. When (not provided) started to increase I started estimating based on ratios. But now the volume is so low the data is statistically meaningless. How do you think companies should measure online branded traffic - Are there tools (free or paid) that will allow me to measure brand traffic to site?
