I would have an idea - a small improvement of your Twitter account integration.
At the time, the best submissions are tweeted with the via @InboundOrg mention - the account is mentioning itself. I suggest that you mention the poster's twitter handle instead.
Advantages for contributors:
- You would reward the contributors, most people would appreciate being mentioned by a nearly 10k - followers account. It would also motivate people to engage more.
Advantages for Inbound.Org:
- When the contributor is mentioned, there is chance she or he will re-tweet (which will bring @InboundOrg more followers)
- No extra "tweet characters" cost, IMHO mentioning yourself does not bring any big advantage to your twitter account. You would just replace the handle.
- Probably low implementation cost, I think it must be easy to implement such a change
Possible problems:
- People would submit stuff only because of the chance being mentioned. On the other hand, they will still be motivated to submit good stuff, to get up-voted (and twitter-mentioned).
- It would be worth to check-out if it is not against Twitter's TOS - I mean automated mentioning of people (I don't think people would mind that, as they would submit the content with it, but perhaps it would need to be sure Twitter is able to accept this)
