As far as CRMs go, Hubspot's CRM is free for everyone now (the CRM NOT the marketing software) and it is killer for any small to medium business that don't need product reporting. But for sales funnel and communication and keeping track and checking pipeline and staying on top of the sales game full marks. It's SO easy to use too. 

So particularly if you perhaps plan using Hubspot in the future, or are already, (or even never, it's not a must) that one is a no-brainer.

As long as it needs to be. I agree with this article.

The most important point I think is to really structure the email well, to think it over again and again and make sure the language is plain and simple, easy to read.

And not to assume anything! Test, test, test and compare results before making assumptions. 

Personally my favourite is the Hubspot app. So if available that's the definitively choice no. 1. Failing that it depends on what the needs are as some commenters have already described and pointed out. 

For small business owners I'd go with Buffer, covers most their needs and is so easy to use.
